The company was established in 2005 and is currently authorized by the Egyptian government to operate a fleet of 1000 yellow-taxi vehicles, with a paid-up capital of EGP 20 million (USD 3.6 million).

City Cab enjoys a first-mover advantage and faces limited competition in the marketplace, catering to the professional workforce, expatriates and offers safer means of transportation to the female population.

Watheeqa obtained a 25% equity stake in City Cab and aims to aid the company in bettering their operational efficiency and introduce value-add initiatives to capitalize on the favorable marketplace environment.
