Mr. Omar Alzumai is the Chairman of the Board and Managing Director at Watheeqa Capital Company.
Mr. Alzumai's role is that of a steward and he is at the helm of company affairs. He leads and executes the Board of Director's vision and strategy. He is responsible to explore new business and investment opportunities across geographies, countries, sectors and companies. In short, Mr. Alzumai spearheads the long term growth plans and sets the strategic direction of the company.
Apart from these key roles, Mr.Alzumai is also responsible to thoroughly assess the risk and return profile of various investment opportunity, monitor and evaluate the performance of the investee companies - subsidiaries, associates, strategic stakes, proprietary investment portfolio's of the company and client portfolios.
Mr. Alzumai's leadership style is simple and people oriented - hire the right talent in the right place and set them free. He takes an extra-ordinary interest in the company's talent hunt process, chart their career progression, set corporate goals at the division levels and set compensation and reward systems.
Mr. Alzumai, over the years, has accumulated a vast and rich experience in direct investments, mergers and acquisitions and private equity. He has worked with reputed financial institutions in the United States of America and Kuwait.
Mr. Alzumai is a CFA Charterholder and a Member of the New York Society of Security Analysts. He holds an MBA; specialized in Finance and BA in Banking and Finance.
Mr. Mehernosh Colsawala is the Director of Operations and Monitoring at Watheeqa Capital Company.
He is responsible for the overall operations and strategy. This includes translating business plans to actionable ones - monitor them by milestones. Other key responsibilities include implementation of guidelines, manuals, policies and procedures at the company and division levels. He also assists towards initiating, building and finalizing strategic partnerships and alliances including setting up of new businesses. He also works alongside the senior executives of the Investment team to monitor the performance of subsidiaries and associate companies.
He also manages the back office operations - Portfolio Management Services, ensures Compliance with regulatory laws, and oversees the recruitment of senior personnel.
He has a rich experience in setting up new banks with complete planning from market analysis to obtaining licenses/sanctions, etc. He has worked in leadership positions with the international Big 4 Audit and Consulting firms like Ernst & Young, PwC and at senior management level, in multinational corporations.
He also has a vast experience in reviewing and implementing adequacy of controls within the various global investments, compliance with statutory regulations and monitored internal performance in line with agreed corporate policies.
Mr. Mehernosh Colsawala is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Certified Internal Auditor, with over two decades experience as a corporate accountant and provider of advisory services to clients on risk management, process/organizational restructuring, start up operations and financial management.
Mr. Mohammed Al Rayes is Senior Vice President - Direct Investments at Watheeqa Capital Company.
He is responsible for structuring private equity funds and leading direct investment transactions through the entire life cycle - from screening to exit across many geographies and sectors. In addition, he is also responsible for assessing, structuring and executing approved investments and managing portfolio companies on behalf of clients from investment to exit.
He has extensive experience in the fields of private equity and investment banking working with renowned global and regional financial institutions. He is also well versed in Mergers and Acquisitions, capital market and debt market arena.
Mr. Al Rayes holds a Diploma in Electrical Engineering and a Bachelor of Commerce Co-operative Education in Finance and has completed the Canadian Securities Course and Canadian Professional Financial Planner Course.
Mr. Vijay is the Director of Research at Watheeqa Capital Company. He leads and mentors a team of first rate analysts. He is responsible to build the talent pool, define and refine the research process - in its entirety.
He is responsible for the investment ideas; identify, analyze and advise on the sell side and buy side investment opportunities across regions, countries, sectors and companies. He plays a vital role in an advisory capacity in the various investment committees; responsible to allocate capital.
He has a wealth of experience; more than fifteen years in the emerging equity markets such as Asia and the Middle East - covering great, good and gruesome businesses across diverse industries. He has lead and played an instrumental role in setting up investment research functions in his past assignments. Over the years, he has gained invaluable insights - both learning through mistakes and humbled by profitable investments.
Mr. Vijay has completed his executive education programs from the Harvard Business School and Columbia Business Schools, US. He also holds an MBA, specialized in Finance and B.Sc. specialized in Statistics.
Mr. M.S.S Raam is Manager - Finance and Human Resource at Watheeqa Capital Company.
He is responsible for the finance and accounts - that includes project finance and working capital management. He is responsible for company financials and audits, liaison with banks and other external agencies. He is responsible for the timely audit of all portfolio companies and ensures adherence to the International Financial Reporting Standards. His other responsibilities include treasury management, preparations of Budgets, management accounting and Management Information Systems (MIS) reports. He is also responsible for the Human Relations functions.
He has worked in the investment, finance and corporate sectors for more than eleven years with exposure to finance, consulting, audit, accounts & MIS.
Mr. Raam is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Cost Accountant with a post graduate degree in Commerce.
Mr. Waly Dolaty is the Senior Legal Consultant at Watheeqa Capital Company. He is responsible for heading and managing the Legal Department.
Mr. Waly, over the years, has practiced law and accumulated significant experience in the areas of Business, Banking and Cooperate Law, and has handled numerous landmark transactions for major financial institutions in Egypt, the Middle East and South Africa.
After earning a Law degree with honors, he started his career as an Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Law - Cairo University. Having been licensed as a lawyer by the Egyptian Bar Association, Mr. Waly practiced as an attorney for several years in Baker & McKenzie; the first tier multinational law firm, before becoming an in-house Legal Consultant and Deputy of the Legal Department Head in a reputable Bank in Kuwait.
Mr. Waly holds Master of Laws (L.L.M), Bachelor of Laws (L.L.B) as well as diplomas in both Common law and Intellectual Property Rights (IPR). He is currently enrolled to a Ph.D program in Commercial Law.
Mr. Abid Rabbu Mustafa is the Head of Information and Technology at Watheeqa Capital Company.
His area of competence is in the field of IT management with expertise in the sectors related to banking, finance, investment and capital markets. Prior to this, for more than eight years he has been associated with leading investments companies in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He has rich experience building and setting up the overall IT infrastructure.
Mr. Mustafa holds a Bachelor degree in Computer Science and has had intensive training in the field of Information Security and in Anti Money Laundering.
